Health Services Administration
Why study health service administration (HSA) at WVU Tech?
Healthcare is one of the largest industries in the United States. WVU Tech offers one of the only HSA undergraduate programs in the state. Our program is designed to develop healthcare leaders with strong communication and critical thinking skills who are committed to delivering effective public health services.
Students who have a passion for healthcare, public service and making a difference will enjoy this program.
How does the program work?
The HSA program is an interdisciplinary program that includes courses in health administration, business management, sociology, political science and economics. Students may opt to minor, or even double major, in any of these complementary academic programs.
What do students enjoy most about the program?
As part of the program, our students are required to complete a 300-contact hour practicum, which enables them to gain practical, hands-on experience in the healthcare industry.
What opportunities are available for graduates?
Graduates find career opportunities as hospital administrators, long-term care administrators, state and federal health administrators and insurance analysts. This program gives graduates a competitive advantage when seeking managerial positions in healthcare fields.
