WVU Tech offers students outstanding educational opportunities. Our Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences is on the forefront of undergraduate STEM education and has been a leader in undergraduate engineering and technology for more than fifty years.
We also offer highly rated programs in science, mathematics, nursing, health care, business, humanities, public administration, and the social sciences. And WVU Tech continues to develop additional on-line course offerings as well as opportunities for working adults though programs like our Regents Bachelor of Arts.
WVU Tech prides itself in providing hands-on experiences for undergraduate students. Our students have the opportunity to explore their interests and follow their passions with the mentoring and guidance of our outstanding teachers and researchers. Here you can conduct research for patent-pending technology, take part in a high-altitude balloon launch, build electric motorcycles, or create new energy solutions in our alternative energy lab!
And WVU Tech’s Student Success Center and Student Support Services provide a variety of programming designed to enhance student success. Programs and activities include:
- WVU Tech’s required Freshman Seminar course that focuses on acclimation to the university environment. The program uses peers to reinforce success strategies with senior students from similar majors serving as mentors.
- Access to the Student Support Services computer lab and resource room with technology assistance.
- An academic tutoring program with student tutors to help any student in any course.
- Workshops on a variety of areas to strengthen academic competencies including time management, test taking techniques, and study skills.
- Academic recovery guidance for at-risk students on academic probation or those who are identified by the faculty-initiated early alert system.
WVU Tech prides itself on its reputation of providing each and everyone one of our students with the individualized attention they need to succeed – whether in the classroom, the college community, or their future careers.
